Seniors coloring a giant Butterflies poster together at a senior center

Giant Coloring Posters for Seniors & Dementia Care

Q: What size works best on an activity table?

30x42 inches — big enough for six to ten residents to color the same poster at once, small enough to tape flat to a standard activity table.

The activity has to work for the whole table — the resident who colors inside every line, and the one who just wants to hold a marker and be part of it.

These posters were picked for dementia and memory care settings: big, clearly outlined sections, familiar subjects — flowers, butterflies, animals, words people know — and nothing so intricate it frustrates. One poster on the table serves six to ten residents at once, at every level of ability, for as many sessions as it takes to finish. Then it goes on the wall, where everybody can point at their part.

Activity directors run them weekly. Families buy them for visits that need something to do together besides talk about the news. Every poster is printed one at a time in our Cherry Hill shop on heavy 35 lb Canon paper.

Why these designs

Not every poster works in a care setting. The ones in this collection follow the rules from our guide to coloring activities for seniors with dementia. The sections are large and clearly defined, the outlines are bold, and there are no very small details. → Read the guide: Coloring Activities for Seniors with Dementia

FAQ

What makes a coloring poster good for dementia care?

Large sections and bold outlines, so nobody needs fine motor precision. Familiar subjects — flowers, animals, nature — that spark memories instead of confusion. And no wrong answers: every finished poster looks good, whoever colored it. Our guide explains the research and how to run a session.

Can residents at different ability levels share one poster?

Yes — that's how they're used. The same design has open sections for broad strokes and detailed corners for residents who want them. Everyone contributes to the same picture.

Do you sell to care facilities in bulk?

Yes — bulk pricing starts at 10 posters ($19.99 each, less as quantity grows) with free shipping on bulk orders. Facilities pay by card through our secure checkout; purchase orders are for schools.
